General

How does SpaceShip work? Welcome to the new generation of shipping and storage where Spaceship makes moving and storage easy. Once you sign up,  you can schedule UPS to pick up your boxes  from your home. After that, UPS will either ship your boxes directly to your new destination or send them to a nearby climate protected & secured storage  facility.  Your items will be stored until you are ready for us to ship them back to you at the same location, or a new one.

When is the latest I can sign up for the services? There is no deadline as we are a year-round service.  However, if you plan on ordering  supplies from us, they may take up to 5 business days to arrive.

If I signed up and change my mind, can I get my money back? Your monthly subscription begins when you register. If you decide to cancel please reach out to our Spaceship Specialist at 855.5.LAUNCH (855.552.8624), and  we’ll help you out!

Who does your shipping? All boxes are shipped via UPS Ground.

Where is your company located and where are my items stored? Our  corporate office is located in Scottsdale, Arizona. All of your items are stored at one of our climate protected and secured  facilities closest to where you are shipping from. We currently store at over 70 storage  warehouses all over the country.

Do you have minimum or maximum requirements for amount of boxes or time length? No, Spaceship is by the box shipping and storage solution.  You can store and ship as few or as many boxes as you want. There is no minimum or maximum time length for storage, just let us know when you’re ready to get your boxes back!

Insurance, Billing & Pricing

Are my items insured? Items shipped in to storage are covered for up to $100 provide they are packed in accordance with UPS packing guidelines. Electronics need to be in original packaging to be covered. Any lost or damaged items must be reported immediately to our customer service team at  855.5.LAUNCH (855.552.8624). Each SpaceShip supplied box being shipped will be covered for up to $100 by UPS provided it has been packed in accordance with their packing guidelines listed at www.ups.com

Can I purchase additional insurance? Currently insurance is limited to $100 and all items must be packed in accordance with UPS packing guidelines to be eligible.

Which items are not covered by insurance when I store?  Items include but are not limited to cash, coins, jewelry, glass and collectible items of indefinable value. Damage to electronic equipment if not packed in its original packaging. Improperly packed or items not packaged in a corrugated box will not be covered or able to be shipped. Such items , including furniture that is not wrapped  or protected and not able to be packaged in a box.

Which items are not covered by insurance when I ship? Anything not packed per the UPS packing requirements. Please visit www.ups.com for full terms and conditions details.

What Payment methods do you accept? We accept most forms of credit and debit cards.  Unfortunately, we are unable to accept cash, checks or money order transactions. This way we can make sure that your payment is processed correctly and applied directly to your account. We never store your credit card information for additional billing, but we will process the remaining charges based on the previous transaction number through Authorize.net.

How much does storage cost? Storage is $11/month per box. Shipping to our space is always FREE if you ship in within the same shipping zone.  Return shipping is also free if you store your boxes for more than 6 months.Otherwise, shipping home is an estimated minimum of  $29.50 per box.

How much does direct shipping cost? Shipping prices depend on the  dimensions, weight and destination of shipment. Just create a free account and you’ll be able to receive a quote.

When will I be charged? You will be charged a prorated amount until the end of the month when your boxes arrive at the warehouse for storage. After that, you will be charged automatically on the first of each month to the card that is on file. For direct shipping you will be charged when the shipping labels are created.

How do I update my card on file? You can change your card on file by logging into your account and clicking on the billing tab then update card next to your desired service, or by calling us at 855.5.LAUNCH (855.552.8624).

Scheduling and Tracking

How do I schedule a  UPS pick up? Once you sign up and begin your subscription,  you will be able to schedule a pickup with UPS from your service profile for any day Monday-Friday from 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM. This can be done online or over the phone by calling us at 855.5.LAUNCH (855.552.8624).

How can I track my boxes once they have been shipped? Once your items have shipped, simply log into your service profile and you will see your tracking numbers available for each box.

What if I need to make a last minute change or cancel scheduled UPS pick up?  No problem! As long as the pickup is within 24 hours we can cancel it for you. Or, you can log on to your service account and click cancel. Your first pick up is FREE!  Please notify us at Support@GetSpaceShip.com or 855.5.LAUNCH (855.552.8624) with your changes if you need assistance.

What if I missed my UPS pick up? Email Support@GetSpaceShip.com or call us at 855.5.LAUNCH (855.552.8624) with your new requested date. Your first pick up is FREE. Please note that a  $10.00 pickup charge will apply for each pickup whether it was missed or successfully completed.

Boxes

Can I buy boxes from SpaceShip? What comes in a supply kit? Yes, you can purchase one (or more) of our supply kits. Each supply kit includes five (5) double walled 4 cubic foot boxes (18″ x 18″ x 22″) as well as packing tips and a roll of tape. Kits are shipped to you via UPS Ground, and may take 5-7 business days to arrive.  This add on feature can be found on the payment page of your service.

What if I need to ship and store items that are larger than the Spaceship boxes? We currently only sell boxes that are 18″ x 18″ x 22″. However, you can use larger boxes that you purchase elsewhere. Please keep in mind that all items must be packaged in a box for both shipping and storage and cannot exceed a total of 165 inches in Length, Width and Height.

Can I use my own boxes? Are there size requirements? You may use your own boxes. However, they cannot exceed our maximum size restrictions. To measure your ground packages and ensure they are within our guidelines, use the following formula: Length + 2x Width + 2x Height. The answer to this formula must be less than 165 inches in order for the box to be shipped UPS Ground and stored. Please note that no side of your box can exceed 108 inches and we do have a weight limit of 70 lbs per box.

Is the pricing the same if I use my own boxes? As far as shipping goes, the price to ship your boxes will be dependent on dimensions and weight of the box, as well as the distance it is traveling. As long as the box meets our requirements, storage is still $11/box per month.

How do I label my boxes for shipping and storage? Labels for shipping and storage can be found in your online account. Once you have printed your shipping labels, tape one shipping label to the top of each box you want to ship. Tape should be placed around the edges of the shipping label, and should not cover the bar codes on your labels. Make sure to not duplicate your labels on your boxes. If you are not using all your labels just dispose of any unused shipping labels. Make sure to call us or log on to your account to cancel any unused labels.Only one package will ship per unique label assigned to you.

How much weight does each box hold? Our weight limit for any box is 70 lbs. However, SpaceShip boxes have a suggested weight limit of 50 lbs.

TIP: Concerned your box may be overweight? Simply step on a scale while holding your box and note your weight, then put the box down and step back on the scale. You should now be able to estimate the weight of your box with a little subtraction.

How do I properly close and tape my boxes? When building and sealing your boxes, you should use three strips of the provided tape for both the top and the bottom of the box. Make sure you are using proper packing tape or the tape supplied in our supply kit. Do not use, duct tape, electrical tape or scotch tape!

Is there anything I CAN’T put in my boxes? Some items that cannot be shipped or stored are: cash, coins, jewelry, and collectible items of intangible or indefinable value.
